Position: Project Manager – Flour & Animal Feed Mill (Industrial Installation & Execution)
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract
Location: Kampala, Uganda (East Africa)
Salary: USD 2,000 – 3,000 per month (based on experience) + Allowances

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and capable Project Manager to lead the execution of an ongoing flour mill and animal feed mill project. The project is already in progress, and the selected candidate will be responsible for managing all remaining phases including equipment installation, utilities integration, and commissioning.

The role requires close coordination with international equipment suppliers, contractors, and on-site teams, while ensuring timely and high-quality project completion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Coordination

• Take ownership of an ongoing industrial mill project
• Coordinate with:
  • Equipment suppliers
  • Mechanical installation teams
  • Civil contractors
  • MEP contractors
  • On-site construction team
• Ensure proper execution sequence:
  Civil Works → Equipment Installation → Utilities → Testing → Commissioning

2. Equipment Installation & Commissioning

• Oversee installation of:
  • Milling equipment (cleaning, grinding, packing lines)
  • Conveying systems, silos, and storage systems
• Ensure installation as per manufacturer specifications
• Coordinate with supplier teams during installation, testing, and commissioning

3. Utilities & MEP Coordination

• Ensure readiness and integration of:
  • Electrical systems and distribution
  • Water systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Ventilation and dust extraction systems
• Work closely with MEP consultants and contractors

4. Planning & Deadline Management

• Manage project timelines and ensure on-time delivery
• Monitor progress and identify delays
• Implement corrective actions proactively
• Align procurement, installation, and commissioning schedules

5. Site Management

• Supervise daily on-site activities
• Ensure quality standards and compliance
• Conduct regular coordination meetings
• Resolve technical and operational issues
• Ensure safety and operational adherence

6. Stakeholder Communication

• Coordinate directly with project owners
• Provide regular progress updates
• Prepare reports on progress, risks, and solutions
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders

Required Qualifications

Education

• Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Civil Engineering (with industrial project experience)

Experience

• Minimum 6+ years of project management experience
• Experience in industrial / factory / processing plant projects (mandatory)
• Experience in equipment installation projects
• Strong exposure to:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Installation processes
  • MEP coordination
• Experience handling projects from construction to commissioning
