Job Description: Vessel Accountant

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports or statements.
2. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
3. Coordinate and complete annual audits, preparing budgets for timely submission to owners.
4. Improve accounting systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
5. Meet the financial accounting objectives of the company.
6. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions accurately.
7. Carefully draw reports to capture all invoices and follow up for timely closure settlement.
8. Develop standard accounting systems, approval policies, and skills upgrading.
9. Device structure for maker/checker approval procedures and smooth remittances.
10. Conduct regular meetings with departments to assist in resolving accounts-related issues.
11. Provide periodic suppliers and customer analysis for better planning by management.
12. Prepare comparative analysis reports from various vendors for office stores.
13. Build goodwill with vendors for prompt payment and avail maximum credit period.
14. Share accounts inputs related to management for budget preparation.
15. Monitor timely payments with proof for wages and expenses.
16. Aim to achieve professional corporate relations with banks and statutory authorities.
17. Share knowledge inputs with co-staff for skills upgrading and professional deliverance.
18. Prepare salary statements and their TDS workings.
19. Handle monthly payment of salaries and other office-related expenses.
20. Make monthly TDS payments.
21. Manage day-to-day cash expenses.
22. Prepare monthly GST data for GSTR filing.
23. Prepare invoices and debit notes.
24. Maintain accounts invoices and supporting documents.
25. Prepare monthly MIS reports, salary slips, and quarterly TDS data for returns filing.
