Operations & Maintenance Engineer / Technician – Rooftop Solar Plant (1 MW)
Location: Hosur, Tamil Nadu
Employment Type: Full-time | On-site

Job Summary
The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer / Technician will be responsible for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of a 1 MW rooftop solar power plant. The role includes hands-on electrical maintenance, supervision of panel cleaning activities, plant performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure maximum plant uptime and optimal energy generation.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹40,000 per month (based on experience and skillset)
Accommodation: Stay provided within factory premises
Travel: Work-related travel expenses will be reimbursed
Work Timings
Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (including breaks and lunch)
Weekly Off: As per plant schedule (Sunday is a working day)
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Perform regular inspection, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of solar plant equipment including modules, inverters, LT/HT panels, transformers, and related electrical systems
Supervise solar panel cleaning activities conducted twice daily (6:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Manage a 10–12 hour work shift, ensuring effective scheduling of maintenance, monitoring, and reporting tasks
Monitor plant performance through SCADA or monitoring systems and analyze daily generation data
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical faults promptly to minimize downtime
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, electrical safety protocols, and statutory compliance (TNEB, CPCB, and other applicable norms)
Maintain accurate daily, monthly, and annual records of energy generation, breakdowns, and maintenance activities
Supervise and manage a small team of panel cleaning staff to ensure proper upkeep of solar modules
Maintain inventory of critical spares and coordinate procurement when required
Coordinate with DISCOM authorities, vendors, OEMs, and service providers for plant operations and maintenance support
Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting to management
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in solar power plant Operations & Maintenance (rooftop or ground-mounted)
Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, and electrical maintenance
Experience in supervising manpower and coordinating cleaning activities
Good understanding of grid synchronization, safety practices, and plant monitoring tools
Ability to work independently and manage on-site operations efficiently
Good communication, analytical, and reporting skills
