Technical Skills Required
Mechanical Alignment: Expertise in "make-ready" processes to reduce setup time and ensure perfect registration.
Material Knowledge: Understanding how different board thicknesses (3-ply, 5-ply) and flute types react under die pressure.
Structural Awareness: Ability to interpret 2D CAD drawings and translate them into physical machine settings.
Experience Requirements:
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Machine Setup: Mount and align die-cutting plates and stripping tools accurately according to the job card and design layout.
Precision Cutting: Calibrate pressure and registration settings to ensure clean cuts and precise creasing without cracking the liner.
Quality Inspection: Perform "first-off" inspections and regular spot checks to ensure slots, notches, and crease lines meet structural specifications.
Waste Stripping: Monitor the automatic stripping unit to ensure waste is efficiently removed and does not interfere with the production flow.
Optimization: Maintain optimal machine speed while preventing "nicks" from breaking or sheets from jamming.
Tooling Care: Inspect die-boards for blunt blades or worn-out rubber/cork and report the need for re-knifing or repairs.
