Job Description: Facility Manager (Specialized Healthcare)

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Facility Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and strategic management of a world-class specialized hospital infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment that supports high-quality patient care, adhering to Joint Commission International (JCI) standards and international healthcare regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, CMS).

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: * Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Fire & Safety), or Architecture.

Preferred: Master’s degree or certifications such as CFM, CHFM, FMP, LEED AP, or PMP.

Experience: * Minimum of 7 years in facility management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Proven experience in a healthcare setting, ideally within a JCI-accredited environment.

Technical Skills: * Expertise in BMS, HVAC, medical gas systems, and fire safety.

In-depth knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, CMS, and local building codes.

Leadership: * Strong ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 clinical environment.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical staff and hospital leadership.

Experience Requirements:

I. Facility Operations & Maintenance

Oversee daily operations of physical infrastructure: HVAC, electrical (LV/HT, DG, UPS), plumbing, medical gas systems, elevators, and fire safety.

Ensure 100% functionality of critical systems in high-stakes areas like Operating Rooms, ICUs, and Diagnostics.

Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Manage vendor contracts (AMC/CMC), warranties, and defect liability periods for all technical assets.

II. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain full compliance with JCI accreditation standards regarding facility management and life safety.

Implement safety protocols for hazardous materials handling and infection prevention.

Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and facility safety rounds.

Develop and maintain emergency response plans (e.g., power outages, fire, or flooding).

III. Project & Sustainability Management

Lead facility-related projects including renovations, expansions, and equipment installations within budget and timelines.

Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure projects meet healthcare design codes.

Monitor and optimize utility consumption (water/electricity) and manage Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Oversee environmental services, including specialized medical waste management and laundry.

IV. Leadership & Resource Management

Supervise and mentor a multi-disciplinary facilities team (technicians, safety officers, and coordinators).

Manage the department budget, negotiating with vendors for cost-effective, high-quality services.

Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure facility systems align with clinical workflows and medical equipment needs.
