Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven professional with strong expertise in coal and mineral procurement across South African, Indonesian, and Indian markets.
The role involves end-to-end sourcing, procurement, trading, and supply chain coordination for thermal coal, metallurgical coal, iron ore, and other bulk commodities, with a strong focus on commercial profitability, supply reliability, and strategic market expansion.
The ideal candidate should possess deep industry knowledge, strong international supplier networks, and hands-on experience in bulk commodity trading and logistics management.

International Procurement & Sourcing
Source thermal and metallurgical coal from:
South Africa
Indonesia
Other international markets
Develop and maintain relationships with:
Miners
Exporters
International suppliers
Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and supplier agreements
Manage complete import procurement cycles from sourcing to delivery
Domestic Procurement
Procure coal, iron ore, and minerals from Indian mines and traders
Build strong networks with:
Domestic suppliers
Transporters
Logistics vendors
Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement operations within India
Trading & Commercial Strategy
Identify domestic and export resale opportunities
Drive profitability through strategic sourcing and trading activities
Negotiate:
Commercial terms
LC structures
Credit terms
Payment mechanisms
Monitor and improve trading margins and business volumes
Market Intelligence & Analysis
Track global coal benchmarks and commodity indices
Monitor:
Iron ore pricing trends
Freight rates
Demand-supply dynamics
Provide actionable market insights for procurement and trading decisions
Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Coordinate with:
Shipping lines
Charterers
Port authorities
Customs House Agents (CHA)
Manage bulk cargo movement, vessel scheduling, and discharge planning
Optimize freight and logistics costs
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and documentation
Manage risks related to:
Price volatility
Forex exposure
Supply disruptions
Ensure proper documentation, contract safeguards, and commercial protection
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in:
